David Kaigler, son of American Revolutionary War Patriot Andrew Kaigler, Jr, married Nancy Miles, daughter of War of 1812 veteran, Hartwell Miles, and grand-daughter of American Revolutionary War Patriot, Thomas Miles. David and Nancy Miles Kaigler moved from Nashville, Tennessee, to Wilkinson County, Mississippi after the birth of their daughter, Isabella. Soon after arriving in Mississippi, their second and last child, William, was born. Nancy Miles Kaigler died shortly after the birth of William, and David Kaigler took both children back to Nashville, TN, to live with their grandfather, Hartwell Miles and his wife, Mary Pillow Miles. The children did come back to Mississippi to live with their father, and when he died in 1830, both children, their uncle John Kaigler was made their guardian.
