Twelve children:

When John & Rebecca came from South Carolina in 1810, they settled on a tract of land east of Holmesville between the Otopasas (now called Topisaw) and Bogue Chitto rivers in the Mississippi Territory. They later went to Woodville, Wilkinson County, MS, leaving a slave in charge of their Topisaw plantation.

John & Rebecca are buried in the unmarked double brick vaults in the Kaigler Cemetery.

John's father, Andrew Kaigler, Jr. (1753-1821), was the second son of Andrew Kaigler, Sr. (1730-1818 in SC) of Germany & Katherine Copplepower Kaigler (c.1733-1805 in SC), who arrived in South Carolina about 1750. Andrew Sr. & Katy settled on about 900 acres on the Congaree River near Sandy Run, Calhoun County, SC.

Andrew Kaigler, Sr. (1730-1818 in SC) was a lieutenant in Lt. Col. Wade Hampton's volunteer South Carolina cavalry regiment (see photo of Hampton at right) and received 957 pounds for services during the Revolutionary War. Any descendant of Andrew Kaigler, Sr., is eligible to join the DAR or SAR.
