Selectman, Representative in the General Court 21 years. Large land holder, donated land for the Rowley Burial Ground. Had nine children with wife Anna (m. Aug. 22, 1626): Ezekiel, Anna Barker, Mary Hazeltine, Elizabeth Hazeltine, Faith Dowse, Joseph, Sarah (died young), Sarah Ellsworth and Priscilla (died young).
