My mother was born in Sulphur Springs, OK and then moved with her family to Longview, Texas when she was ten. After a single semester in a Texas college, she grew homesick for her mom and married sister, living then in Evansville, IN. She moved to Evansville and joined her sister working at the Republic Aviation plant constructing P-47 aircraft. While sitting on the wing of an airplane, she was introduced to a thin, Kentucky farmer's son. My dad said later, he knew as soon as he laid eyes on her -- he was going to marry her. They were together for 47 years and had three children and five grandchildren.
