John W Clapsaddle Jr., 30, Orrtanna R1, died suddenly this morning at 2:30 at his home in Buchanan Valley. The Adams County coroner, Dr. C. G. Crist, said the death was caused by a coronary occlusion. Mr. Clapsaddle had risen to fix the furnace at his home when he was stricken, and death occurred before a physician arrived.
A native of York, a son of John W Clappsaddle, Orrtanna R1, and the late Gertrude (Kuhn) Clappsaddle, he was a farmer and a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, Buchanan Valley; of the Holy Name Society, the Eagles of Gettysburg and the Buchanan Valley Rod and Gun Club.
Surviving are his father; his wife, the former Barbara Wean; a son, Michael Clappsaddle, at home; these brothers and sisters; Mrs. Mary DiGiovanno, Dover; Ralph Clapsaddle, Orrtanna R1; Joseph Clappsaddle, Biglerville, and Mrs. Joan Bortle, Chambersburg, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services Thursday morning with meetings at the Bender Funeral Home, Carlisle St., at 9:15 to go to St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church for the Requiem Mass at 10:00 at which the Rt. Rev. Msgr.
Louis J Yeager will officiate. Interment in the church cemetery.
