Mrs. Gertrude L Clapsaddle, 56, wife of John W Clapsaddle, Buchanan Valley, died this morning at 7:00 upon arrival at the Warner Hospital.
She had been suffering from heart trouble for ten years. This morning about 2:30 she became seriously ill with the heart condition and her physician was with her for 1 1/2 hours before removal to the hospital was attempted.
A daughter of the late Lewis and Lizetta Bievenour Kuhn, she was born on the farm where the Bethlehem Quarries are now located along the Hanover-Cross Keys Rd.
She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church and of the Rosary society of that church. She and her husband observed their 21st wedding anniversary last June.
Surviving are her husband and the following chidren; Miss Mary Clapsaddle, John W Clapsaddle, Jr., Ralph Clapsaddle, Joseph Clapsaddle and Joan Clapsaddle, at home. Also surviving are two sisters, Miss Mary Kuhn, Harrisburg, and Miss Iva Kuhn, Hollywood, California.
Because of the necessity of notifying the sister in California, funeral arrangements, which will be under charge of the Bender Funeral Home, will be announced later.
