John E Brady, 68, died at his home in Buchanan Valley, Tuesday morning at 7:45 from the effects of a stroke on New Year’s Day. HE had grown steadily worse since suffering the stroke.
The deceased was a native of West Virginia, a son of the late Lewis and Rebecca (Cole) Brady. For 35 years he had been a teamster for mill-owners in upper Adams county and for the last 10 years had been a farmer. He was a member of St. Ignatius’ Catholic church, Buchanan Valley.
His wife, Sarah Agnes (McCloskey) Brady, died October 20, 1938.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Earl Kump, and Mrs. Lawrence Hall, both of Buchanan Valley; six grandchildren, and one brother, John H and two sisters, Mrs. Edgar Leese and Mrs. Lewis Haywood, all of York.
Funeral services Friday morning meeting at the late home at 8:00 with a requiem high mass at 9:00 in St. Ignatius Catholic church conducted by the Rev. Mark P McElwee, rector. Interment in the church cemetery.
