MRS. L.M. NORSWORTHY PASSES AWAY AT DALLAS HOSPITAL SUNDAY
Mrs. L.M. (Lon) Norsworthy, aged 44 years, prominent Greenville woman passed away at St. Paul's Sanitarium in Dallas at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, following an operation performed last Thursday morning. Mrs. Norsworthy had been in failing health for several months and had been confined to her bed for the past five weeks, being moved to Dallas last week for an operation.
Brief funeral services were held at the family home, 2907 Polk street at 9:30 o'clock Monday morning, conducted by Rev. M.L. Hamilton, pastor of Wesley Methodist church, following which the body was shipped to Mer Rouge, La., for burial.
Mrs. Norsworthy, who was before her marriage Miss Flora McFarland, was born January 4, 1886 at Mer Rouge, Louisiana, and was reared to young womanhood there. Shortly after her marriage to L.M. Norsworthy they came to Texas and settled at Winnsboro in 1909 and resided there until 1915 when they removed to Louisiana. In October 1918 they came to this city and have since resided here, Mr. Norsworthy having been connected with Graham-Fagg Company several years.
Mrs. Norsworthy was one of Greenville's most popular and beloved women and her passing casts a gloom of sadness over the entire city. She was a conscientious Christian woman having united with the Methodist church early in life and followed closely to the Master's teachings in every walk of life. She was a member of Wesley Methodist church at the time of her death and during her residence in this city has been very active in the work of Christianity and was a leader in the Missionary Society of Wesley Methodist church. She stood ready to lend a helping hand to the unfortunate at all times. Her family and her church stood foremost in her life and she took great pleasure in serving them.
She had been in ill health for several months but five weeks ago was forced to confinement in bed. She was moved to Dallas last week where an operation was performed in an effort to save her life.
Surviving are her husband and two sons, Edward Norsworthy and Darby Norsworthy of this city. One son, Weldon, preceded her in death. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Bob McFarland and Mrs. C.P. Hartley, Monroe, La., Mrs. F.H. Clark, Mer Rouge, La.; Mrs. J.J. Fitch, Oak Ridge, La., Mrs. J.A. Laughlin, Oklahoma City, and Leon McFarland, Bastrop, La.
The relatives have the sympathy of their many friends in this hour of sorrow.

Mrs. Norsworthy had been ill for several months and underwent an operation last Thursday in hopes of regaining her health and lost the fight in death Sunday.
Mrs. Norsworthy, nee Miss Flora McFarland was born at Mewr Rouge, La., January 4, 1886. She was reared there and married to Lon M. Norsworthy and they came to Texas in 1909, settling in Winnsboro.
In 1915 ehy returned to Louisiana and in 1918 came to Greenville.
Deceased joined the Methodist church in girlhood and was a faithful member of Wesley Methodist church and a worker who will be missed by the good people of the ocngregation.
She is survived by her husband and two sons, Edward and Darby.
One son, Weldon preceded her in death.
Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. M.L. Hamilton, at the family home 2907 Polk street, Monday morning and the body carried to Mer Rouge for burial.
