Woodrow Goodwin and Velma Mashburn were married November 19, 1945 at Manitou, Oklahoma. After their marriage, Velma's parents sold their Hollister farm and bought a farm closer to the Goodwin farm near Manitou.
When Woodrow and Velma and the Mashburns left Oklahoma in 1951 and moved to Quincy, Washington, Woodrow's brother Marvin and wife Lola Mae bought the Mashburn farm.
Velma was the mother of five boys. Roger Elliott married Janet Nelson February 24, 1978; Jacie Frank, who was killed in a traffic accident on his 43rd birthday and had graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in accounting; Michael Lewis married Jonnie Majors January 25, 1971; Mark Allen married Laura Riggs June 30, 1990; and David who married Mari Renae Seader June 21, 1977.
Velma lived for fifteen years after her husband's death in 1976. Her sons helped with the farming during that time. When she became ill, they continued to provide for her care. Velma Goodwin died November 28, 1991 at the age of 63 years.
