Drear - Mrs. Minnie Balmer, 81, of 441 State Street, Vanport, died Thursday afternoon, Oct. 1, 1959, in Rochester General Hospital. Born in the state of Nebraska, July 5, 1878, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Huselton Balmer. Mrs. Drear had been a resident of Vanport 60 years. She was preceded in death by her son, Harry E. Drear, in 1955. She was a member of Vanport Presbyterian Church; Vanport Woman's Club, and Woman's Benefit Association of Monaca. Surviving are her husband, Harry J. Drear; a son, Wade E., of New Brighton; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph O. (Mabel) Kemper, of Vanport, and Helen Alberta Drear, at home; three grandchildren; a brother, Robert S. Balmer, of New Brighton; and a sister, Mrs. Frank Southworth, of Canton, Ohio. Friends will be received after 12 noon on Saturday, Oct. 3, in J.T. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 205 College Ave., Beaver, where funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. with Mr. William Bell, student pastor of Vanport Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. J. C. Steele, former pastor of the church officiating. Interment in Beaver Cemetery.
