James Albert Buffington, 71, of Ft. Myers, FL passed away on April 20,
2011. Mr. Buffington was born on January 23, 1940 in Lakeland, FL, to
James and Lucy Mickle Buffington. He was a 1960 graduate of Ft. Myers
High School. He was a Title Examiner for 37 years and also performed
Magic Shows locally.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were his sisters, Irene
(Rosser) Johnson (FMHS 1952) and Laurie Hart (FMHS 1955). He is
survived by his wife Shirley (FMHS 1960); his children, David
Buffington and Amy (FMHS 1992) (Richard) Cureton and a granddaughter,
Rachel Cureton; his mother-in-law, Coralie Tatum; brothers-in-law, Ed
Hart (FMHS 1947) and John (Laura) Lutzow; a niece, Susan Hollingsworth
and nephews, Steven Hart and Mike Rosser.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM in
the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family
will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 until time of services.
Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers
memorials may be made to Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Parkway E., Cape
