James A. Buffington, Sr. was a retired manager of Western Union for 43 years. Survivors were his widow, Lucy M. Buffinton; son, James A. Buffington II, both of Fort Myers; daughters, Mrs. Irene Ferguson of New Orleans, Mrs. Laurie Hart of Fort Myers; two sisters, Mary Booth and Nell Glover of Jacksonville; and six grandchildren.
