Peter Goranson Died Saturday

Peter Goranson, 85, pioneer resident of Shotley township, died at the Lake Julia Rest Home Saturday.

He was born at Elsdalen, Sweden December 5, 1877 and came to America in 1880. His marriage to Betsy Peterson took place in Mora January 5, 1901, and they lived there until 1910 when they homesteaded in Shotley township.

Surviving are his widow; three sons, Ben, Rudolph and Walter of Kelliher; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and a sister Mrs. Arica Anderson of Minneapolis.

Funeral services were held at the Bethany Lutheran church at Shotley Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Robert M. Cheney officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery under the direction of the Kolden-Snustad Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Everett, Charles, Dan and Kenneth Powell, and Robert and Richard Goranson.

He was married to Betsy Goranson (56) born about 1874 in Sweden and immigrated 1892. Children: Rudolph (26) born about 1904 in Minnesota, was a timber cutter in woods work, and Walter (24) born about 1906 in Minnesota, was a timber cutter in woods work. Oscar Sjoberg (46) born about 1884 in Sweden and immigrated 1910, was a lodger in their home. Occupation - timer sawyer in woods work.
