The Gettysburg Times September 22, 1919

David Lawver died at his home in Arendtsville Sunday evening at 6:00 after an illness of four weeks from a stroke of paralysis. He was aged 72 years, 3 months and 21 days.
He was the youngest son of the late Henry and Kathryn Lawver, of near Cashtown. Besides his wife, who before her marriage, was Emma Forsythe, he leaves the following sons and daughters,
Mrs. George R. Fisher, Harrisburg; Mrs. Alice Schlosser, Arendtsville; Charles Lawver, near Gettysburg; Willis D., United States Army; Boyd D., Biglerville, and J. Hersh, at home. One sister also survives,
Mrs. Matilda Pottorf, Cashtown.
Seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren and also among the survivors.
Mr. Lawver enlisted in the United States Army of the Potomac, March 8, 1864, being a member of the 21st Cavalry Pennsylvania Volunteers from which he received an honorable discharge at Lynchburg, Virginia, July 8, 1865.
Funeral Wednesday morning, meeting at the house at 9:30 with further services and interment at Flohr’s church.
