Ralph Eric Bishop, 62, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2003. Eric was born in Comfort, Texas on October 3, 1942, to the late Ralph Woodrow Bishop and Polly Ann Bishop.
Eric attended college at Schreiner University and Southwest Texas State, where he pledged Alpha Psi. Eric joined the Texas Park and Wildlife Department in 1969, as a state game warden. He served the department in High Island, San Antonio, Kerr County, and Corpus Christi. While working in San Antonio, he was one of the first wardens to work undercover for the department. He also was awarded Outstanding Officer in 1974 for the Southeastern Association of Game and Fish Commissioners. He served the department for 31 year and retired in 2000.
Eric is survived by his wife, Janie M Bishop, his mother, Polly Ann Bishop, his children, Jeff (Annie) Bishop, Craig (Heather) Bishop; and their mother, Carol Ann Sieverson; step-son, Rett Fisher; grandchildren, Emily, Lucille and Jackson Eric Bishop, his brothers, Al (Judy) Bishop, Vic (Nora) Bishop; his sister, Polly Gayle (Stephen) Davis, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Kerrville, with the Rev Mack McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Point Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Rouse, Phillip Milton, Phillip Dodgen, Robert Bender Johnson, Augustine Coronado and Ted Morrow.
