Aged Mother Succumbs To Lingering Illness
Funeral Services For Mrs. Dial At Cook Funeral Home Today
Mrs. Samantha Dial, a lifelong resident of Loudon township, passed away at her home southwest of this city at 6 a.m. Tuesday. She had been in extremely poor health for many months.
Life Sketch
Samantha Riley, the daughter of the late William and Marinda Claytor Riley, was born in Loudon township west of this city August 6, 1863 and departed this life April 23, 1946, aged 82 years, 8 months and 17 days.
She was united in marriage to Morris Dial July 20, 1881. This union was blessed with eight children. Two children died in infancy and the husband passed away about 22 years ago.
Mrs. Dial, who united with the Methodist church early in life, was a good christian woman. She was a very devoted mother, a good neighbor and a true friend, who will be greatly missed by her multitude of relatives and friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Della Dycus of Altamont, Mrs. Anna Hildebrand of Beecher City and Mrs. Lucy Lancaster of Palmer, three sons, Isaac of Sharpsburg, Virgil of Kincaid and Only of Beecher City; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Cook Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted at two o'clock this afternoon by Rev. A. E. Kretzer. Burial will be in the Beecher City cemetery.
