William McCray Riley, nicknamed Mann, was the fourth child and the second son of William and Susan Riley. He was born in Knox County, Ohio on June 17, 1835. He wed Marinda Chedrich Claytor on March 6, 1859. They were married in Fayette County, Illinois, by Esquire Eli Cummings. Marinda was the sister of John Claytor, husband of Harriet Riley Claytor Gilstrap. Marinda Claytor was the seventh child of William and Esther Claytor. She was born in Fayette County, Illinois on January 29, 1843. Sha and William had three children: Lewis Francis, Samantha Josephine, and Marinda Jane who died in infancy. Marinda Claytor died on September 5, 1865, two days after the birth of Marinda Jane. On February 14,1867, William McCray Riley married Rebecca Jane Claytor, sister of his first wife, Miranda. Rebecca Jane was the ninth child of William and Esther Claytor. She was born in Fayette County, Illinois on March 19, 1847. They had four children: Normandy Olive, John A., Onias C., and Virginia A. (who died in childhood). William Mcray died on August 2, 1876 at the age of forty-one. Rebecca Jane died July 7, 1914 at the age of 67.
