Vivian V. Dunlap was born August 17, 1923 at her grandmother's house in Hoxie, Kansas to Joseph and Edna Corey. She was raised and schooled in Ecley, Colorado.
Jim and Vivian moved west to Vanport, Oregon in 1944. They lived at the Richland Wye until a space was available at Camp Hanford in North Richland. In 1953 they moved to Kennewick. Vivian was a Kennewick School District Food Service worker starting at Edison Elementary and retiring as the head baker at Highlands Junior High.
After caring for her husband Jim for many years, who passed away in 1996, she was able to spend time traveling with her children.
One of her best moments was to be reunited with her son she had given up for adoption.
Vivian is survived by sisters Eunice (Ray) Kehler and Lillian Kehler, both of Nebraska; children John (Lou) Bales of Mississippi, Sharon (Keith) Adkins of Kennewick, Dixie (David) Crepeau of Florida, Phyllis Dunlap of Spokane, Nora (Mike) Cole of Idaho, James "Jay" Dunlap of Kennewick, Carol (Duncan) Durand of Wenatchee. She was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Friday, February 27, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home located at 1401 South Union Street in Kennewick, WA. Funeral services will be Sunday, February 28th 2:00 p.m. also at Mueller's Tri-Cities.
