John Groet Waterloo – John Millard Groet, 69, of 861 Still Water Rd, died Friday, April 22, 2011, at Self Regional Healthcare.

Born in Wilmington, Deleware, he was a son of the late John and Dorothy Wiedrich Groet. He was baptized in Deciples of Christ Church, a graduate of N.C. State University, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korea. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a retired from Ithica Textiles.

Surviving are a long time companion, Mary Waltman of Ware Shoals, two daughters, Cheryle Clark and husband Mark of Crawford, Ms. And Emily Meister and husband Jay of Wilmington, N.C., a sister, Dorothy (Doll) Stroud and husband Richard of Kokomo, In., and two grandchildren, Tristan Meister and Jordan Meister.

Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday at Ware Shoals Cemetery with Rev. Mac Jones officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
