Jodena Honeycutt, 89, of Abilene, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange Street, with Keith Clifton officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, under the direction of North's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Honeycutt was born September 20, 1921 in Stamford, Texas to William and Josie Slatton Wright. She is a graduate of McMurry University. She married Paul Honeycutt on September 27, 1941. They moved to Abilene in 1945. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and worked for the U.S. Government for a number of years. Mr. and Mrs. Honeycutt were the Ford dealers in Merkel in the late '40s and Lincoln-Mercury dealers in Abilene in the early '50s.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul; a son, Gerald Honeycutt; a sister, Ramona Joyce Wilemon; and a brother, William Hamilton, Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Maxine Kelton of Abilene; daughter-in-law, Grace Ann Honeycutt of Sugarland, Texas; two grandsons, Gerald Paul Honeycutt, Jr. of Frisco, Texas, and Travis Scott Honeycutt of Lubbock, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
