Catherine Richardson Stewart, widow of Alfred Merrill Stewart, Sr. and mother of 8 children is buried in the Preslar Cemertery, Henderson, County, TN. This is a very old family cemetery located on Preslar Road about a mile west of state Highway 22. Catherine was born about 1802 in North Carolina. Her husband, Alfred Merrill Stewart, SR. died 10 Oct 1841 in Anson, Co. NC About 1853-54 Catherine loaded her children in a wagon and moved to TN with the Preslar and Caraway families. Her daughter Nancy Angeline Stewart married Steven Preslar and her son James Sanders Stewart married Mary Ann Braswell. Catherine died about 1890 in Henderson Co. TN.
