Jane Bales was born in Helt Township March 29, 1822. She was married to Dr. Cuthbert F. Keyes June 29, 1846. To this union were born 7 children - 4 of whom are still living - Mrs. W.M. Jones, Mrs. Thomas Clark, Fred and O.M. Keyes. She has been a resident of this township continuously since her birth, except 2 years spent in Clinton - 1868 and 1869. She died in Dana, Friday, November 11, 1904.
Funeral services were conducted at the home of Dr. W.M. Jones by Rev. J.W. Nye after which they were interred in the Bales Cemetery.
The children of Mrs. Jane Keyes desire to thank the scores of dear friends who sh owed so much sympathy and kindness during the sickness and death of their beloved mother.
