Mr. Carson was a son of Robert and Sarah (Hoopengardner) Carson, deceased, and was born October 19, 1868, at Amaranth. On March 29, 1916, he was united in marriage with Achsah Giffin in Bethel township, and they spent their married life at Amaranth where Mr. Carson was a successful farmer. Besides, his wife, he is survived by three children, Ada B., Herbert R., and Sherman W., all at home; also two sisters and one brother survive, Anna Sipes of Little Orleans, Md., George Carson of Amaranth, and Mary J. Streightiff of Everett, Pa. Mr. Carson was a member of the Brethren church at Amaranth, and was greatly esteemed by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held January 16, at 2 o'clock at the Amaranth Brethren church in charge of his pastor, Rev. G. L. Baker. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. (newspaper clipping)
