Clarence D Deardorff, 93, of McKnightstown, died Sunday afternoon at 1:25 at the Guilford Convalescent Home in Chambersburg.
He was born in McKnightstown and was the son of the late Jacob and Eliza Lady Deardorff. His wife, Ollie Bucher Deardorff, died a number of years ago
He was a member of Flohr’s Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of American Legion Post 262 in Biglerville. He operated a farm in the Franklin Township area for a number of years. He had also been employed by PennDOT before his retirement. At one time he served as an associate judge in Adams County.
Surviving are four sisters, Isabel Watson of Oakland, California, Ruth Shaw of New Kensington, Eva Bower of Cashtown and Lolite Charles of Hanover; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with the Rev. Douglas Y Boden and the Rev. Philip Bower officiating. Burial will be in Flohr’s Cemetery in McKnightstown.
