Mr. John W. Alden, 75 of 3509 Richmond Hill Road, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Poteet Funeral Home, Peach Orchard Road, with the Rev. John Courson officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial park.
Mr. Alden, a native of Wyoming, Iowa, had lived in Augusta since 1954. He retired from Babcock and Wilcox after 17 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Milan Presbyterian Church, Milan, Ill., and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post no. 649.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie J. Alden; a son, John Richard Alden, Martinez; two daughters, Susan Elizabeth Alden, Rock Island, Ill., and Roaxann A. Church, Alta Vista, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be members of the military.
Memorials may b e made to St. Joseph hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta 30904, or the American Diabetes Association, 3783 Presidential Parkway, Suite 102, Atlanta 30340.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
