The Star and Sentinel November 3, 1917

John G Bowmaster, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Samuel Shultz of Cashtown, at 6:30 Sunday morning from heart dropsy aged 72 years, 5 months, and 15 days. He was a native of Wintenberg, Germany, and came to this country at the age of seven years.
He leaves the following daughters and sons; Mrs. Edward Shuyler, Mrs. Samuel Shultz, John Bowmaster, William Bowmaster, and Mrs. Annie Wildasin, all of Franklin township; and one brother and one sister, William Bowmaster, of York, and Mrs. Louisa Cunningham, of Gettysburg.
Funeral services Wednesday morning, meeting at the house at 10:00. Services at Flohr’s Church conducted by Rev. Ira S. Ernst.
