Franklin Township Resident Victim Of Stroke At Home
Mrs. Ellen Elizabeth Shuylar, 64, wife of J. Edward Shuyler, died at her home near Hilltown at 12:25 o'clock, Thursday afternoon from the effects of a stroke on Sunday. She had been in ill health for five weeks.
She was the oldest daughter of the late John and Mary Bowmaster, and was born and always lived in Franklin Township.
Surviving are her husband, six daughters, Mrs. Ralph Shultz, Gettysburg; Mrs. Clarence Lentz and Mrs. Emmert Shultz, McKnightstown; Mrs. Guy Miller, Gettysburg; Mrs. Wilford Forsyth, Orrtanna; Miss Lillie Shuyler, McKnightstown; three sons, Cleveland and Chester Shuyler, both at home; and Clarence Shuyler, Martinsburg, West Virginia; two brothers, John and Wilham Bowmaster, both of Orrtanna; two sisters, Mrs. Samuel Shultz, McKnightstown and Miss Annie Bowmaster, Orrtannna; thirty-five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive.
She was a member of Sheely's United Brethren Church.
Brief services from the home Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with further services at Flohr's church at 2 o'clock, the Rev. J.B. Reed, Biglerville, officiating. Interment in the cemetery adjoining the church.
