My Great Great Great Grandmother Mary came to the United States with her first husband Robert Saddelton in 1849 through the port of New Orleans. They settled in Tonica, Illinois and together had two sons and a daughter. Their two sons died( dates unknown) and their daughter, Mary was born in October 1854. Her first husband Robert Saddelton died in 1855.

Mary then married Robert Barton on July 19, 1856. Together they had 5 sons: Twin boys Henry and John were born May 1857 and died September 25 1858 at the age of 1, son Walter was born in 1861, James in 1864 and George in 1869.

Along with her husband Robert, Mary was well thought of in the community. After Robert passed away in 1883, she lived with her son James on their farm. She passed away after a lengthly illness.
