Rites Held In Floresville for Posey L. Wiley

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 6, at Vineyard Funeral home in Floresville for Mrs. Posey Loveta Wiley, whose death occurred Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1981, in Seven Oaks Nursing home at Bonham, Tex.

She had reached her 97th birthday last Dec. 19.

Mr. Robert LeCroix, Church of Christ minister and Mrs. Wiley's son-in-law, officiated at the services and burial was in Floresville cemetery beside her husband, Martin Luther Wiley, who preceded her in death Dec. 25, 1953, in Floresville.

Mrs. Wiley was born in Comanche county, Texas, Dec. 19, 1883, the daughter of Thomas A. Wood and Elizabeth Kunkendall Wood, natives of Texas and Tennessee. She married Martin Luther Wiley, a Collin county, Texas, native on Jan. 3, 1904.

The couple lived in Indian Territory at the time of their marriage, having moved to the newly opened territory with their parents. They returned to Texas after a few years and lived in South Texas.

They were life-long members of the Church of Christ.

Survivors are four sons, Olen Wiley of Natchez, Miss., Rex Wiley and L. B. Wiley of Henderson, and Don Wiley of Grove, Okla.; three daughters, Mrs. Audrey McAlister of Bonham, Mrs. Corrine LeCroix of Odem, and Mrs. Eva Dean Branch of Houston. One daughter, Mrs. Ora Griffin, preceded her in death.

Other survivors are one brother, Pete Wood of California; four sisters, Mrs. Montie Henslee and Mrs. Lola Kearney, both of Mission, Mrs. R. H. Williams of Ardmore, Okla., and Mrs. Virginia Aderholt of Borger. There are 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were one grandson, Don McAlister; two sons, Don and Rex Wiley, and two sons-in-law, Aubrey McAlister and Robert LeCroix.

Wise Funeral home of Bonham was in charge of local arrangements.
