He was the son of Volney and Sarah Moon Slocum.
On June 8, 1909 he married Ada Busher Parks in Pittsfield, MA.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ada Busher; two brothers, Dr. M.M. Slocum, Barneveld and Lewis W. Slocum, Richfield Springs; his mother, Mrs. Sarah Jane Slocum, Barneveld and several nieces and nephews.
