Graveside services for Vera C. Callaway, 99, of Longview, will be today, February 18, 2010, at 2 p.m. in Memory Park Cemetery in Longview with the Rev. Jim Lewis officiating. Mrs. Callaway passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at a local nursing home. Vera Callaway was born February 21, 1910, in Gilliam, Arkansas, to Walter Capps and Elizabeth Maddux. She was a homemaker and loving mother to her family. Vera was a member of the First Christian Church in Longview. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. E. Callaway, and eleven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth McBroom and her husband C. J. McBroom; granddaughters, Melinda Neal and Melissa McBroom; and great-granddaughter, Crystal Smith. Special thanks to Summer Meadows, Mrs. Pace and Latisha Lynae for caring for Mrs. Callaway.
