Omer A. Horton, 83, of Austinville, passed away Monday, February 2, 2004 at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Stone Horton of the home; two daughters and son-in-law, Donna and Lee Roy Agnew of Patrick Springs, Linda Sharpe of Galax; one son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Marlene Horton of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Raper Horton of Austinville, Carroll Horton of Hillsville; three sisters, Irene Beasley of Arizona, Ila Goad of Dugspur, Edna Lawson of Austinville; five grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2004 at the Coulson Church of the Brethren with Rev. Russell Payne and Rev. Enos Griffith officiating. Burial will be at Coulson Cemetery. Military Rites by Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
The family says that flowers would be appreciated, however, donations may be made to Coulson Church Building Fund or Coulson Cemetery.
