Mr. Lloyd Hampton Bass, 81, of 100 Fox Hollow Drive, Clinton, NC died Saturday at his home.

Mr. Bass, born in Sampson County, was the son of the late Ammie Robertson and Annie Belle Herring Bass. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Detter and Mildred Burney and three brothers, Robert, Lorenzal and Paul Bass. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as former chairperson of the Buildings and Grounds and director of R.A.s for a number of years. He was a veteran of the US Army and was the owner of Lloyd Bass Plumbing, Inc. aand Lloyd Bass Rentals of Clinton.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Westbrook "Lib" Bass of the home; two sons, Larry Hampton of Clinton and Lloyd Roger Bass of Surf City; two granddaughters, Abbey Bass Waters of Clinton and Marlee Lou Anna Bass of Cary; one great granddaughter, Bailey Elizabeth Waters of Clinton, two brothers, Harry Bass of Clinton, Norman Bass of Rocky Mount, four sisters, Mabel Halterman of Wilmington, Elizabeth Estes of Dallas, TX; Helen Vann of Clinton and Hortense Eldridge of Dunn.

The family recieved friends following services.

A graveside service was held at 2pm, Monday, April 11, 2011 in the Clinton City Cemetery with the Rev. Alan Overton and the Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating.

Burial was made in the cemetery.
