"Mr. Harmon"
"Graveside services for Bernis Harmon, 82, of Lampasas were Nov. 27, 2006, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas. A military chaplain will officiate with full military honors.
Mr. Harmon died Nov. 25 at his residence.
He was born May 11, 1924, in Carroll County, Va., the son of William Early and Gracie Nuckols Shockley Harmon.
Mr. Harmon entered military service during World War II and served during the Korean Conflict and in Vietnam.
He retired from the U.S. Army with more than 22 years of service.
Mr. Harmon married Mary Bessent on Oct. 18, 1998, in Lampasas.
Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; a brother, William C. Harmon, of Woodlawn, Va.; a sister, Elsie Hatch, of Adamsville, Tenn.; stepsons, Lance Taylor, and wife, Angela, of Lampasas, and Troy Trueblood, of Temple; and four step-grandchildren, Amber Tomlinson, Jennifer Taylor, Crystal Taylor and Chance Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanie.
