Francis was killed in action in Germany during WWII 27 Feb 1945. His body was returned from Europe for reburial here in Sioux Falls SD. Deal Leland Stark will office ate with military honors by the Sioux Falls American Legion post.

PVT Francis Mullenix was a infantryman. He was born in Sioux Falls and grew up in the city. He graduated from Washington HS and was employed by the Sioux Falls gas company before entering the service.

Surviving are his parents Frank and Mary Mullenix of Sioux Falls and three brothers: Emrey, Robert and Walter of Sioux Falls and seven sisters: Mrs Margaret Roher Okkanogan Wash, Mrs Lorretta Hennings, Mrs Mary Oberg, Mrs Rose Kiggens Mrs Delores Attwood, Mrs Bertha Jurgenson and Miss Patty Mullenix all of Sioux Falls.
