Va.hospital.He was born in Buchanan County,Va.and was the son of the late Thomas P. and Mary E.(Webb)Davis.He was a life long resident of the Marvin,Va.area and served 12 yrs on the board of supervisors representing the Garden District.At the time of his death he was a deputy sheriff in Buchanan County.He was a veteran of WWII, a retired miner and owner of the Davis Welding Shop.He was a past master of the Richlands Masonic Lodge No.318,AF and AM and was a member of the Richlands Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.He was a former member of the Buchanan County Board of Social Services.He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.Survivors include his wife--Mrs. Caroline (Ferrell)Davis--one daughter--Mrs. Joan Boyd--three sons--John D.Davis, Guy Willis Davis and Jack Herbert Davis--four sisters--Mrs. Vergie Ball, Mrs Nannie Smith, Mrs. Avie Keen and Mrs Sallie Stilwell--two brothers--Joe Henry Davis,Sr. and Ted Davis.
