Friday, October 24, 1941: August P. Timm, 77, Resident of City for 70 Years, Dies of Heart Attack
August P. Timm, 77, a resident of Michigan City for 70 years, died of a heart attack at 5:45 p.m. yesterday at his home 616 W. 11th. Mr. Timm, ill for five weeks, was widely-known in Michigan City. He was a retired general foreman of the Pullman Standard Car Mfg. Co. and was affiliated with St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception church, Holy Name society, and for many years sang in St. Mary's choir.
He was born March 8, 1864, in Germany the son of Martin J. and Wilhelmina (Wiese) Timm, both deceased. His wife, Anna F. (Retseck) Timm preceeded him in death on Jan. 2, 1931.
Surviving are several children, Frank M. Timm, Hammond; Joseph A. Timm, this city; Lawrence J. Timm, Attica; Mrs. Leo M. Baunach and Martin J. Timm, both of this city. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9 Monday at St. Mary's church with Rev. E. H. Vurpillat officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at the home, 616 W. 11th, Satuday evening. The Holy Name Society will meet at the home at 7:30 Sunday evening to recite the rosary.
