Rincon - Guy Downing Ambrose, 63, passed away in his sleep on Monday, September 11, 2006.
The Effingham County native was attending the Baptist Church at Ebenezer. He retired from C.S.X Railroad after 25 years, was a truck driver, served in the U.S. Navy and the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Sanders Ambrose of Rincon; three children, Derick Hubert Ambrose (Nicole) of Greenville, SC, Rebecca Lynn Shaw (Brian) of Rincon, and Carey Anthony Ambrose (Gina) of Springfield; five grandchildren, Austin Ambrose, Laurie Eve Shaw, Daniel Lewis Ambrose, Cody Alex Ambrose, and Emma Grace Shaw; two sisters, Ruth Seckinger and Gussie Nease both of Rincon; four brothers, Herbert Hoover Ambrose of Rincon, Eugene Ambrose of South Carolina, George Ambrose and Dick Ambrose both of Rincon; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m Thursday in the chapel.
Interment will be in Rincon Cemetery.
Remembrances may be given to Baptist Church at Ebenezer Building Fund, 201 East 6th Street, Rincon, GA 31326.
