NEWELLTON (Special) — Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Cannon George, 65, of Johns Island, S.C., formerly of Newellton, were held at 3 p.m. today at the Church of Christ here with burial in Legion Memorial Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah.

Mrs. George died Sunday at a Charleston, S.C. hospital following a brief illness.

Survivors include one son, Thomas E. George of Johns Island, S.C.; four brothers, Marvin Cannon of Muskogee, Okla., Raymond Cannon, Burl Cannon and Thomas Cannon, all of Newellton; two sisters, Mrs. Gordon Arnold of Vidalia and Mrs. Beatrice Shockley of Danvill, Ark.; several nieces and nephews.
