Benjamin Brom Miller, 62, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009.

Mr. Miller was born on Jan. 10, 1947, in Staunton and was a son of the late Brom Harper and Mary Kathleen Rodeffer Miller. Ben most recently had been the manager of Valley Waterproofing Solutions prior to his retirement. He was an active member of the Harrisonburg Baptist Church, where he had served on the finance and personnel committees and was a member of the Renaissance Sunday School Class. He was a loving and devoted father and husband.

On May 1, 1982, he married Susan Garrison, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Miller is survived by four sons, Benjamin Brom Miller II, of Richmond, Christopher Harper Miller and wife Amanda of Lavon, Texas, Matthew Harper Miller, of Harrisonburg, and Jeffrey Lyon Miller of Harrisonburg; two brothers, Kenneth Harper Miller and wife Stacy of Durham, N.C., Gerald Miller of Woodburry, Minn.; a sister, Virginia Tootie Myers, of Harrisonburg; and two granddaughters, Madison Lou Miller and Molli Grace Miller, both of Lavon, Texas.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday Dec. 2, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Harrisonburg Baptist Church with Dr. Jack Mercer officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Burial services will be held privately.
