Virginia "Tootie" Miller Myers, 84, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Greencastle, Pa., on July 6, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Brom Harper and Kathryn Dissinger Miller.
Tootie lived the majority of her life in the Harrisonburg area and was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and VFW Ladies' Auxiliary.
On Dec. 20, 1946, she married Raeburn "Date" S. Myers, who preceded her in death on May 5, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Brom Miller.
She is survived by a son, Dale H. Myers and wife, Sandy, of Harrisonburg; two grandsons, Trenton and Bradford Myers; one brother, Jerry Miller of Minnesota; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Dr. E. Thomas Murphy Jr. officiating.
