'Here lies the body of Capt. Thomas Colburn who was killed by lightning as he lay asleep in his bed Aug. the 30th, 1765 in the 64th year of his age. Be ye also ready.'
Right side of the stone:
'Here lies Thomas the son of Capt. Thomas and Mary Colburn who was killed by the same flash of lightning with his father Aug. the 30th, 1765 the 4th year of his age.'
