Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Hickory Flat Cemetery. Bro. Marshall Gurley, Bro. Andrew Stokes and Bro. Rufus Chandler will officiate the service. Pallbearers who will serve are Shamus Bartholomew, Wayne Blackwell, Don Bartholomew, Roger Bartholomew, Dale Bartholomew, Bruce Bartholomew, Bendall Bartholomew, and Teddy Bartholomew. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicolas Bartholomew and Neil Bartholomew. The family will receive friends in the Cherry Wood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Saturday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Sunday from 9:00 AM until time of service. Mr. Bartholomew was born November 25, 1920 in Decatur County, Tennessee to the late James Lee Bartholomew and Lillie (White) Bartholomew. He was a member of New Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, a retired Auctioneerman and a World War II Army Veteran. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Raynell (Richardson) Bartholomew, three sisters, Unnie Dabbs, Opal Wall, Alma Lee Halters, six brothers, Aaron Bartholomew, Oakley Bartholomew, Woodrow Bartholomew, Corey Bartholomew, Faye Bartholomew, and Paul Bartholomew. He is survived by two sons, James Sidney Bartholomew (wife Wanda L.) of Clarksburg, Johnny Ray Bartholomew of Huntingdon, two sisters, Irene James of Westover, Imogene Blackwell of Cedar Grove, and one brother, Farris Bartholomew of Clarksburg. He also leaves two grandchildren, April Bartholomew Allen, Shamus Bartholomew, four great-grandchildren, Jacob Allen, Jase Allen, Nicolas Bartholomew, and Ariel Doyle.
