Callie R. Johnson, 89, of Dunkirk, IN, passed away Wednesday while in the company of family members at Miller's Merry Manor, Dunkirk, Jay County.

Callie was born in Monterey, TN, a daughter of the late Ina (Phillips) and Lee McCowan.

She was a member of The Dunkirk Freewill Baptist Church of Dunkirk. She was very active in her church and an avid gardener and seamstress, enjoying her quilting.

Survivors include one son, William Maynard Harris (wife-Glenna) of Dunkirk, IN; two daughters, Estell Sisco (husband-Collins) of Crawford, TN, and Doris Miars of Muncie; one sister, Dorothy Walker of Dunkirk; three grandchildren, Melody Kummer (husband-Randy) of Vila Rica, GA, Sandy Sisco (husband-Scott) of Dunkirk, and Amy McCallum (husband-Tyler) of Gilbert, AZ; two great-grandchildren, Arianna Kummer of Vila Rica, GA, and Mathew Sisco of Dunkirk.

Callie was preceded in death by one son, Truman; her parents; three sisters; and six brothers.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at MJS Mortuaries Dunkirk Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted by Goff Funeral Home, Monterey, TN, on Sunday. Calling is 1-3 p.m. with services following at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. The minister will be Brother Delmer McCowan. Burial will follow in Welch Memorial Cemetery on Monterey, TN.

Indiana services have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries Dunkirk Chapel and Tennessee services have been entrusted to Goff Funeral Home, Monterey, TN.
