Daughter of John Wesley Dickenson and Rebecca "Becca" Jane Shupe. Sister to Ella Sue Dickenson, Mary Elizbeth Dickenson, Rose "Rosa" Dickenson, Eula V Dickenson, Campbell Bascomb Dickenson, Virgie G Dickenson, Edith Dickenson, Lake Earl Dickenson, Eura C Dickenson, Cornelia V "Teed" Dickenson, Walter Creed Dickenson, Nadine Dickenson, and Lorene Dickenson.

Wilma married Ted Swisher.

Wilma is buried just to the right of her parents.

Wilma Jean Dickenson Swisher, 82, Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Kingsport.

Born on July 23, 1925 in the small community of Crackers Neck in Big Stone Gap, VA, she had lived most of her life in Big Stone Gap and lived in Tennessee for the past several years. She was a member of the Big Springs Baptist Church in Big Stone Gap.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Swisher; her mother and father, Rebecca Jane Shoop Dickenson and John Wesley Dickenson; two sons, Randy Dickenson and John McCann; and 11 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Kay Terlecki and husband, Tom of Campbell, OH, Mary Alice McCann and husband, Ronnie Snead, of Bristol, TN, and Teresa McCann of Kingsport, TN; and a very special friend, Charles Michael of San Francisco, CA; four sons, Harrison 'Pat' McCann and wife, Martie, James Lanny McCann and wife, Tammy, R. C. McCann and wife, Arlene, and Elmer Lee McCann, all of Kingsport, TN; 24 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters; two sisters, Lorene Humbert of OH, and Nadine McHale of Baltimore, MD; and several very special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Johah Ray Shoop officiating.

Burial will follow in the American Legion Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Billy Wright, Bobby McCann, Mark McCann, Richard McCann, Chase McCann and Charles Michael.
