Carlisle, OH/Kimmer Gem, VA Lorene Humbert, of Carlisle, OH formerly of Kemmer Gem went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 29 at the age of 89. She was a member of the Deep Springs Missionary Baptist Church, but since moving to Ohio, had attended Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Miamisburg, Ohio as long as she was able.Lorene accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 14, at Big Springs Baptist Church in the Crackers's Neck community of Big Stone Gap where she was born on January 18, 1923. She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Karen Humbert of Richmond, VA and Carmen and Ken Huff of Carlisle, OH, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Humbert,Jr., and one grand-son Kenny A. Huff, her parents, John Wesley Dickenson and Rebecca Jane (Shoop) Dickenson.Nine sisters, Lizzie Hurley, Ella Black, Rose Thompson, Cornelia Spease, Virgie Cary, Eura Teague,Eula Robbins,Jean Swisher and her twin, Nadine McHale. Two brothers, Rev. Bascom Dickenson and Lake Dickenson. Visitation will be from 5 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Sturgill Funeral Home in Pennington Gap and funeral services will be at 12:00 on Thursday, January 3, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Miracle of Miamisburg, OH officiating. Graveside services will be follow in Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. On line condolences may be made to www.sturgillfuneralhome.com.
