Mrs. Phillips rites set on Sunday:
Mrs.G.W. (Mattie Nell) Phillips, died Friday, March, 23 at the Fairview Lodge Nursing Home, Oklahoma City, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held in Rose Chapel, Sunday, March 25 at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Marion Nilsson will officiate.
Born August 27, 1886 in Kentucky, Mrs. Phillips was married to Dr. George Wendell Phillips December 26, 1907 in McWhorter, Kentucky. They came to Sayre November 10, 1918 from Kentucky. She was a member of the First Christian church.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1947, one son, Wendell, one daughter, Ruby.
Survivors are two grandchildren, Mrs. James Hartpence, Oklahoma City and Phillip Wonder of California; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mollie Links, Hamilton, OH. Interment will be in the Sayre-Doxey cemetary with Rose Chapel Funeral Services in charge.
