Younger brother of Southern Illinois rackets boss Frank "Buster" Wortman. Ted was seen as a calming influence on his brother for many years. Together they became involved in a number of legitimate businesses such as a trucking firm & taverns. Ted managed the notorious tavern "The Paddock" & it later bacame a nightclub/restaurant.
