MRS. ELLEN COSTELLO IS DEAD
Was 81 and Had Been an Invalid for More than 2 Years.
Mrs. Ellen Costello, 81 years old, died about 8 o'clock yesterday evening at her home east of town. She had been in failing health for some time and an invalid for more than two years.
Funeral services are expected to be conducted at St Joseph's Church tomorrow morning by the Rev. D. J. Donovan. Burial will be in the new Catholic cemetery by the side of the grave of the husband, Dennis Costello, who died five years ago.
There survive seven children: Sister Mary Ignatius of Havana, Cuba; Sister Mary Hanoria of Iowa City, Iowa, who has been here a week; Mrs. E. E. Shaeffer of Albuquerque, N. Mex., who has been at home caring for her mother this spring; Dennis Costello of Stanley, N. Mex.; John Costello at home; Frank Costello, who lives near the home place, and Mrs. Mary Alber, also of east of town. Three children are dead, one dying in infancy and two daughters when about 20 years old.
Mrs. Costello also leaves a brother, Judge P. J. McCauley, of northwest of Edina, and a half-sister, Mrs. F. A. Shaeffer, of Edina and a half-brother, Joe McCauley, in Montana.
As Ellen McCauley Mrs. Costello was born March 29, 1846, in Pennsylvania and came here in 1865. She and Mr. Costello were married about sixty years ago, and the home has always been east of Edina.
