Sister Mary Ignatious, who as Catherine Cecilia Costello, was born in Knox county and grew to young womanhood here, died Feb. 16 in Havana. She was 80 years old and had been bedfast since suffering a stroke in June, 1948. Funeral services were held Feb. 18 in Havana and burial was there. Sister Ignatious was the second of ten children of Dennis and Ellen McCauley Costello and was born March 28, 1869, on a farm east of Edina. The late John and Frank Costello, who were well known here, were her brothers. She attended Ireland school when she was a girl and later worked in Kansas City for several years before entering the Convent of the Good Shepard in St. Louis on Dec. 8, 1896. In 1900 she was assigned to the Escuela Reformatory for Girls at Aldecoa, Havana. She made only a few brief visits here after that, the last one in 1935.
